Los Angeles company announces digital cinema investment for the Caribbean
Trinidad and Tobago has been selected for digital cinema investment by Los Angeles-based Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. The announcement marks the company’s first large-scale international digital cinema deployment outside of continental US and Canada. The deal will enable the rollout of up to 290 new digital cinema screens at 33 sites across the Caribbean. The company has embarked on a concentrated international expansion effort that includes Australia, New Zealand and Brazil, but the deal with Caribbean Cinemas marks its first full scale international deployment, reflecting the ease of doing business in the region. On-location film shoots is one subset of the creative sector that invesTT is keen to promote. Cinedigm’s investment will ensure that films shot in Trinidad can be viewed locally to the highest technical specifications.
