Malaysian investors urged to take advantage of opportunities in Trinidad
The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) has specifically singled out Trinidad and Tobago as a destination for Malaysian investment, writes the Borneo Post.
“As Trinidad and Tobago positions itself as a gateway to smaller Caribbean islands as well as a distribution centre to the US, it will continue to draw increasing numbers of foreign professionals and expatriates as well as tourists, leading to increasing demand for products and services as well as food and beverage and healthcare franchises,” trade commissioner of Matrade Miami, Jonathan Rao told the paper.
The report lists specific opportunities in high-tech solutions and innovative processes as well as in services, materials and logistics. Other business opportunities named include infrastructure projects, high tech industrial parks, hotels and the upgrade of telecommunications.
