Study may reveal foreign investment opportunities for ICT use in Caribbean agriculture
Trinidad and Tobago is one of five countries selected by the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) for an Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) study focusing on strengthening ICT use in value chains in Caribbean agriculture. Trinidad will be reviewed on its use of ICT applications and its potential along the overall value chains segments. The government of Trinidad has identified ICT as a key target sector for foreign investment and the study may present specific investment opportunities for specialists in agricultural technology. The Caribbean Current reports that CARDI will be one of the stakeholders invited to the Invest Caribbean 2012: Mining the Agribusiness Value Chain conference to be held on Nov. 16 at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C.
