Trinidad animated about business opportunities in creative sector
The Animae Caribe Animation and Digital Media Festival, set to take place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 5, will showcase Trinidad as a creative centre. The event is being sponsored by invesTT. “We see our assistance as crucial, not only to the success of Animae Caribe, but also to the ultimate goal of developing the local animation industry,” Kelvin Mahabir, president of invesTT, told the Newsday newspaper. “Through our support of and involvement in these ventures, invesTT intends to develop the human resources needed to provide a large, attractive workforce for local and international studios and increase our global competitiveness in the animation industry.” invesTT has, for example, identified a specific investment opportunity for the establishment of a 50-60 seat animation studio in the country.
