Site Selection magazine talks solar PV manufacturing in Trinidad
Make room, China — corporate relocation magazine Site Selection is reporting on a feasibility study that shows Trinidad and Tobago is an ideal location for a solar photovoltaics (PV) cluster.
Led by SiTek Limited, the study focused on the development of energy-intensive silicon and glass manufacturing plants in Trinidad and Tobago. The research has shown that a solar park cluster in Trinidad and Tobago could have some of the lowest operating costs in the world.
At US$0.03 per kWh — much cheaper than China’s industrial rate of US$0.09 — Trinidad and Tobago’s energy costs are some of the most competitive, making the country an attractive option for companies in the photovoltaics (PV) industry.
