John Legend, Keyshia Cole among stars to headline Tobago Jazz show
Tobago will be jiving to the rhythmic beat of percussion and melodic cry of the saxophone when the third annual Tobago Jazz Experience opens on April 19.
Thousands of domestic and international visitors will convene on the paradisal island of Tobago over nine days to experience the best of local and international jazz-inspired music.
This year’s festival will feature a sensational line-up including nine-time Grammy award winner John Legend, R&B/pop star Brandy, singer-songwriter Keyshia Cole and the legendary group Earth, Wind & Fire, as well as local soca, calypso and chutney musicians.
Between concerts, visitors can further indulge their thirst for culture, history and sightseeing through myriad official and fringe events across the entire island. These include visits to the picturesque seaside village of Castara, watching a traditional goat race, attending a guided tour of Fort King George Heritage Park, and plenty of opportunities to indulge in local cuisine.
Of course, there is always the option to simply practice water sports or relax at Pigeon Point Heritage Park, widely considered one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
Visitors should plan their trip early to take advantage of discounted accommodation rates offered by several properties. Travel will be facilitated by increased numbers of Caribbean Airlines domestic flights and ferry sailings between Trinidad and Tobago throughout the duration of the festival.
