Vacancy - Senior Investment Officer

The Senior Investment Officer (SIO) is responsible for the sourcing of a portfolio of qualified foreign direct investment leads for Trinidad and Tobago, along with tenanting specific public industrial parks as per InvesTT’s mandate.  Core aspects of the role include identifying, soliciting, negotiating and advancing new investors toward a successful site visit to Trinidad & Tobago with a goal of supporting the management and closure of the potential investment.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Under the direction of the Manager, the Senior Investment Officer works closely with the Investment team to develop and execute on investment lead strategies as per the annual corporate goals.
  2. Plan and execute individual targeting campaigns to source new leads.
  3. Continuously engage in a process of qualifying new leads to develop a robust pipeline of targeted and qualified leads on a monthly basis.
  4. Actively advance qualified investment leads to a stage of deal closure via the development and execution of a moves management strategy plan.
  5. Collaborate with the broader InvesTT team and external stakeholders to identify and support new investment leads and a strong pipeline of good quality investment opportunities.
  6. Provide input and feedback on team projects, actively participate in team planning, programming, meetings to contribute to and coordinate pipeline development strategies.
  7. Assist in regular evaluation of investment opportunities to ensure that they meet InvesTT investment criteria and can contribute positively to the economic development of Trinidad & Tobago.
  8. Assist with the preparation of monthly reports and other ad hoc reports as required/directed by the Senior Management Team, for presentation to stakeholders including the board and Line Ministry.
  9. Respond to and qualify prospective tenant inquiries, application completion support and qualitative assessment of investor applications for Industrial Parks and approval agencies for completeness and accuracy.
  10. Provide supervisory support to ensure smooth operational flow of the Division. 
  11. Meticulously maintain a database of prospects, leads, commitments, market values and leads follow-ups on the Salesforce CRM.
  12. Comply fully with the Company’s policies and procedures, safety policies and procedures, Core Values and Charter of Business Ethics.
  13. Provide support to the Investment Team as and when required in other aspects of investment related work.
  14. Carry out other duties commensurate with the job function.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management or related discipline.
  2. A Master’s Degree and/or MBA is not required but would be an asset.
  3. At least 5 years working experience with a proven track record of sourcing, structuring, and closing foreign direct investments.
  4. Strong financial and client relationship management skills
  5. Experience working with business start-ups or SME growth and expansion strategies would be an asset.

Or, any other equivalent combination of qualification and experience.
